Stacey Abrams, African-American, Wins Georgia Democratic Primary for Governor

Stacey Abrams, 44-year-old, wins the Democratic primary in Georgia. She could become America's first black female governor if she wins the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election will take place on November 6, 2018.

The former state House minority leader for the Georgia General Assembly and state representative for the 89th House District defeated former state Rep. Stacey Evans.
