Nike selects Colin Kaepernick as part of its 30th anniversary of ‘Just Do It’ campaign

Colin Kaepernick, 30-year-old, was selected as part of Nike's 30th anniversary of 'Just Do It' campaign. The former NFL quarterback, who is suing NFL owners for conspiring to keep him out of the league, is one of the faces of a new Nike campaign meant to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the brand's iconic "Just Do It" motto.

He filed a collusion grievance against the league, which claimed he was being kept out of the league because of the protests he started. His argument received a boost recently when Stephen B. Burbank, the arbitrator ruled there was enough evidence to require a full hearing.

Kaepernick, a man of strong convictions and principles:

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."
